Trainer Experience and Qualifications
Claire describes herself as a Plurist Therapist; she is a qualified Traumatologist, EMDR Practitioner, and Registered Mental Health Nurse. She specializes in working with trauma and related mental health issues. She is a Debriefer and Clinical Supervisor and teaches on a Diploma in Relationship-based Supervision. She is keen to put Vicarious Trauma on the agenda of workplaces where clients have or are at risk of serious harm.
This workshop will address the meaning and effects of Vicarious Trauma. The workshop will cover some theory of the neuro-psychology of the traumatized brain and evidenced-based techniques to prevent PTSD. It will include a self-report to personally identify own risks and explore a variety of coping strategies.
Key Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Gain an understanding of Vicarious Trauma and identify the common causes
Be more aware of common responses to one-off and accumulative traumatic experiences
Reflect on their individual and teams’ experiences of Vicarious Trauma & risks
Identify personally acceptable coping strategies
Practice some de-stress/stabilisation techniques
Clarify the need for appropriate interventions of debriefing individual and organisational trauma

You will receive a certificate for 6 hours CPD
