‘The task of therapy is not to eliminate suffering but to give a voice to it, to find a form in which it can be expressed. Expression is itself transformation…’ Stephen K. Levine
This day offers insight into the process of using picture books with adult clients.
An experiential workshop incorporating examples of case work, there will be:
- a presentation of how a picture book has been effectively used as a therapeutic tool with a number of adult clients
- an invitation to creatively reflect on the words, images and themes of selected picture books
- an opportunity to work in groups exploring the possible uses of picture books in counselling
- a space to experiment with incorporating picture books in practice (role play)
By the end of the day, we hope participants will feel inspired, challenged and stimulated to further explore and develop the use of given stories and images in both their self-reflection and therapy practice.
You will receive a certificate for 6 hours CPD
